As an art lover you have come to the right place at Bakker in Vorden. Museum MORE, the largest museum of Modern Realism, is located in Gorssel in Gelderland and is within cycling distance of Hotel-restaurant Bakker. MORE constantly displays a selection of more than 100 works from its own collection of Dutch realists from the past 100 years. From Jan Mankes, Charley Toorop, Pyke Koch to Carel Willink. Many of these artists build on a tradition of meticulous craftsmanship and technical perfection, but each of them does so in their own unique way. Each one creates their own reality, sometimes even a reality that doesn’t look to be from this world. In the wooded area of the Achterhoek, lies the extraordinary Castle Ruurlo. The castle is one of the most beautiful castles in the Achterhoek and is surrounded by a beautiful and vibrant English landscape garden. Since June 27, 2017, Castle Ruurlo, second location of Museum MORE, has been open to the public. The castle focuses on the life and work of grandmaster Carel Willink. The set-up shows the development of a searching artist, who later evolved as the never-before-seen painter. In addition to 45 works by Carel Willink, special creations by fashion designer Fong Leng are also on display.
